Bye bye short carded Supers TH |
As you probably
know Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt and Super Treasure Hunt series were made in the
long card and short card variation with all the castings released
under both variations. Well that happened until 2012 , cause for the
2013 year Mattel wanted to surprise Europeans ( they have mostly
short cards available ) and not releasing any of the castings from
the Super Treasure Hunt series in the short card line up , only
leaving us with the Treasure Hunt series.
As a bigger
surprise there are no information regarding this subject, no official
answers from any Mattel employees, although questions have been sent
directly or thru different collecting sites, like
hotwheelscollectors.com, where there is a post made specifically so
that a Mattel representative can give some answers and let us know
what made them take this decision.
European
collectors just didn't found any of them in any of their shops, in
any country, although American shops already have the "F"
mixes out, so the 6th Super Treasure Hunt. I have searched to see
if someone, somewhere found any, on YouIube, on sites like
hotwheelscollectors.com or T-Hunted, even on e-bay (where usually
you can find everything), on the internet in general using a search
engine but no luck.
Where else to look ??? |
There was
someone that stated he had found the Bone Shaker Super Treasure Hunt
and he posted a picture, but by the look of it, it looked more like
a fake (the casting probably taken from a long card Super and put
into the regular Bone Shaker mainline short card release). He didn't answer or post more pictures to prove that his find is a legit one.
There are
different rumors that there are actually short card Supers released
and that they are taken by different peoples, but on hold so that
they can sell them at a later time for profit, but if it was so we
would have seen them on e-bay or any other commercial site on the
internet, or at least 1 would have escaped into the hand of a
collector.
Can someone give them to us ??? |
I do feel and
probably many other European collectors that we're left aside, that
Mattel doesn't care about European collectors. I would want to know
at least the reason for this choice or an official answer to all of
this, an explanation.
If you find any
Supers on short card leave a comment here so we can all see it and
probably start to search in our stores, the same with any
information related to this subject. Have fun collecting.
Nice blog men!, I really enjoyed reading it. Hope to see your comments on my Top Gear Special this week :-)
ReplyDeleteI found a super treasure hunt bone shaker today in scotland on a short card. Card is regular bone shaker, but I thought it was an error??
ReplyDeleteIt is an error or maybe somebody swapped it with a $uper Bone Shaker from a long card. If you find another one , a different one on short card please let us know.
DeleteI got this from asda supermarket, freshly stocked bin, so definitely not swapped. Read on a blog recently new corvette super was found on a regular card, so maybe they all will be? First super I have found in a year and a half hunting. Not sure how to post pic here...
DeleteNow that is very interesting. Probably they will release them here to. But if they will do , then it comes in the question : why did not they released them since the beggining of the year ?
DeleteI found the 2013 Toyota 2000 GT Super Treasure Hunt on a short card on the pegs at my local grocery store. At first I was skeptical about it but after doing some research & positively knowing where I found it I am convinced it is real. One can only take my word. I did not switch the car & if someone else did why would they return it to the store. There are several STH short cards sold on eBay, some from earlier years & if you look at the cards you will also see that the wheels are different, too. Being that many were bought by others people must be satisfied that they are real. One eBayer paid $99.00 for the '69 Camaro STH short card.
DeleteI don't know what to say if I cant see it. It might be a pro swapped or really they are starting to make a few STH short cards to. But the thing is none of Mattel employees told us anything about this.
DeleteAlso here in Germany i hear nothing about Supers on the pegs... i found a few regular T-Hunts but no Super at all... i think its a big mistake to put us European Collectors aside from other Country's like the USA! I lived a few Yeas in the US and i think Mattel should make no different between Europe, North America and other Countrys... But when you see what Mattel releases all in the Hot Wheels Universe in the US... its clear that the US is there Main Market! But there are so many Collectors around the World... Mario aka #TFCOLLECTORS#
ReplyDeleteThanks Mario , how have you been doing lately ? Usa is the country where Hot Wheels were born so I gues it is normal to be there the main market , there everyone collects and buys Hot Wheels and they can even be founn in the pharmacies and vegetables markets. Here in Europe there are a lot of collectors , but not as many as there and probably there is also a matter of costs/money.
DeleteHey Johny... i am doing good thanks... it is very different being back in Germany... My time in the USA was awesome... i really miss that toy shopping... i figured out that here in Germany the most stores far behind with the How Wheels... mostly cars from last year on the pegs... sure 2013 cars as well but nothing up to date like in a US WalMart Store... I also collect Transformers and there is the same Problem... nothing new on the pegs... sure the USA is Mattel's Main Market because the Cars are designed in El Segmundo, CA! But the Situation here in Europe is far behind what i know from the US! But i guess that is also a Problem from the Stores here... would a Store sell much more Cars her, the store would put more and mostly newer cars on the pegs... The newer 2013 cars i found in my local "Woolworth" Store... and thats a US Company... hahaha... there having mostly the new 2013 cars on the pegs... but only 3 pegs... thats not much... ;-)
DeleteYes the stores don't sell that much here also because theyr double the price , about 2.30$-3$ here. And the HW have to be imported so the importing company plays a big role , not only the stores. That's why here its useless to go haunting every day or even every week , because you will find the same things on the pegs for months.
Deleteexactly... the same things on the pegs for months... did you find anything about buying a whole case? i still look online but is far i know there is no chance to buy a whole case here in Germany...
DeleteI don't think there is a chance like that here , but I never asked , I always look only for what im after , not for a whole case.
Deletelook what i found on Ebay here in Germany!
Deletehttp://www.ebay.de/itm/Hot-Wheels-HW-T-Hunt-70-Ford-Mustang-X1807-SUPER-TREASURE-HUNT-229-250-RAR-/141047336459?pt=Spielzeugautos&hash=item20d7138e0b
a 2013 Super T-Hunt...
Yup , but until I find one I cant say anything.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am a collector of Hot Wheels since 2007.But....I live in Belgium. In the beginning I found the nissan STH on a short card, the ferrari with Enzo in it ,als a STH.And a few others. The finding was easy,or better said, quickly done, because you just could not miss them. The enourmous green bar on the right side of the card. And each one was on a short card. Now ,IF I happen to find one ,I may consider myself lucky. In 2011 I found a '68 Ford 426 Fairline on a completely normal short card. But,it was a Super T.
Hello! Now it is harder to find them, as there are more collectors and they are harder to spot. Hope youre doing well. You can always check my YouTube channel and hang out there!
